Palazzo Comitale
In the heart of the historical center, that sometimes appears like a typical medieval village, there is Piazza Alberico Crescitelli, where we can see the palace of the de Capua counts, a big noble building of the Aragon period that is visible from all the northern side of Sabato valley. The Comitale palace, on a higher level than the road below, was used as the residence of the feudal lords de Capua. The construction of the building lasted long, and ended only in the fifteenth century (some sources say at the beginning, others at the end). In addition to the beautiful stone portal with Catalan vault, we can see Renaissance decorations, the chapel, the guelfic cross windows, a double staircase that starts from the courtyard, old noble decorations on the architraves, and rooms with vaulted lunettes.
