Museo della Gente Senza Storia
The Civic Museum “People without History”, inaugurated in 1997, houses many ancient relics that enable us to trace, from prehistory to modern times, the thousand-year old story of the important center of the Sabato valley, situated on the border between the territories of Avellino and Benevento. Reopened to the public in May 2003 by the current scientific direction, with new findings and a new staging, this cultural center, located in the crypt of the Collegiata dell’Assunta Church, is divided into four rooms dedicated to the archaeological section, the eighteenth century popular costume, the Middle Ages and the liturgical vestments of the Altavilla clergy. How to get to the museum: The museum is located in the crypt of the Collegiata dell’Assunta Church (Sanctuary of San Pellegrino martyr), about 500 meters from the entrance of the village.
