Casa Natale di Antonio Genovese
The birthplace of Antonio Genovesi (abbot- philosopher-economist) is both a museum-house and a touristic residence with accommodation services for tourists who want to stay where young Antonio once lived. Antonio was directed to studies by his father, a shoemaker. In Naples he was close to Giambattista Vico and obtained the Chair of Metaphysics at the University of Naples in 1741, which was followed by the Chair of Ethics. In the same prestigious academic institution he obtained the Chair of Economics, in 1755. He died in Naples, on September 22, 1769. In his birthplace - among other vintage furniture – you can see the shoemaker studio of Genovesi’s father.
