MUSEO ARCHEOLOGICO – PREISTORICO “CENTOMILA ANNI PRIMA DI SCARIO”
In the exhibition there are scale models of the place where researchers found prehistoric remains and soil composition typical of the period. Moreover casts of the Neanderthal man were found at "Riparo del Molare" by a group of researchers at the University of Siena, during an excavation conducted along the Costa Masseta in collaboration with the Archaeological Superintendence of Salerno. The findings unearthed by archaeologists are presumed to date back to a time between 100,000 and 50,000 years ago, and are still being studied at the University of Siena. You can visit the Archaeological Museum of Scario from Monday to Friday from, 8.00 am to 14.00; On Monday and Thursday it is possible to visit it in the afternoon from 16.00 to 19.00
